The Birchwood Project: A Single Mission with a Dual Purpose

A FOREST RETREAT FOR those who need it most

Our mission is to share the calming, connecting, clarifying, healing benefits of this lakeside forest haven.

The Birchwood Project Retreat At this quiet, well-appointed sanctuary in the Brainerd lakes area, critically ill children and their families will be hosted free of charge for a stay at one of the trio of seasonal cabins. Here they can get away and experience the restorative properties of nature. Kids and parents will enjoy a well-deserved respite from the tests, treatments, bills and exhaustion that is part of caring for a sick child. And, even though it will feel like you’re miles away from civilization, the Retreat is close enough to medical facilities in Brainerd, St. Cloud and the Twin Cities to allow for peace of mind.

THE GETAWAY THAT GIVES BACK

The Birchwood Project Lodge will offer a private getaway at a luxurious vacation rental property for an executive- or family-group — a place to escape the daily noise, to open your senses and connect with each other in exquisite settings, and most importantly, to immerse fully in the invigorating yet calming majesty of nature. Sojourns at this year-round boutique Lodge are designed to fully fund the summer Retreat cabins so restorative stays can be gifted to children and families experiencing medical adversity.

This is a unique concept that combines luxury accommodations, the healing power of nature and charitable sharing with kids and families who need a break. Lodge guests can be glad in the knowledge that their relaxing getaway makes it possible for these families to benefit from the much-needed gift of nature’s therapeutic power. Recipients of The Birchwood Project Retreat cabin stays will be selected through a simple application process as nominated through hospitals or other charitable organizations.
